How to Enter

Are you eligible?

Entries are welcome for any merchants of all types including builders', plumbers', timber, decorators', heating, general and other merchants, merchant wholesalers/distributors and architectural ironmongers. Manufacturers, suppliers, house builders, developers, contractors, installers and other supplier industry customers may also submit nominations.

With the exception of the 'Supplier of the Year', ‘Supplier Account Manager of the Year’ and 'Lifetime Achievement' categories, all nominations must focus on a merchant business, or a member of staff working for a merchant business.

To be considered eligible, all entrants must have at least one physical trade counter which supplies construction products and materials to the trade. Business which operate exclusively online will not be considered.


Who can nominate?

Nominations can be submitted from any merchant or their staff. People can nominate themselves, or be nominated by a third-party. There is no limit to the number of categories a person or business can be nominated for, provided they are eligible for that category.

All nominations are treated in confidence and no contact information will be passed to any third party.


How do I nominate?

Nominations should be submitted online through this website as a word document.  If you are still struggling to submit the nomination online, please email it to Jo Evans Please note that if you are shortlisted as a finalist then we will require the entry in a word format and if you include images into this then they will need to be provided as separate documents.

There is no charge to enter the Awards.

To nominate, click on Categories, select the Category you wish to nominate, then click 'Nominate'. Fill in the online form, remembering to upload your finished nomination document.

A maximum of four supporting images may be supplied for nominations in the following categories: Hard Landscaping Display of the Year; Best Showroom; Best Marketing Initiative; Tool Showroom of the Year. These should be supplied as good quality JPEG files separate to the nomination and emailed to Jo Evans at

Once an entry has been submitted it cannot be amended. Please only submit the final document.

Nomination Tips:

  • Please read the guidelines carefully for each individual category and ensure your entry answers its requirements to the best of your ability
  • Ensure that your submission is entirely relevant to the category
  • The facts you provide must be correct to the best of your knowledge
  • Be succinct, make your nomination clear and simple
  • Use bullet points to help highlight your statements
  • Ensure you include details of what benefits the initiatives you are highlighting have had to the business
  • Judges will look favourably on nominations with supporting evidence such as sales figures and testimonials from other members of staff/companies, as appropriate
  • Nominations for Hard landscaping, Best Showroom, Best Marketing Initiative and Best Tool Showroom may supply up to four good quality images in jpeg format. These should be emailed to as separate files to the nomination itself. For the Marketing Initiative category, supporting material can be submitted. This material will be shown to the judges during the judging process if your nomination is shortlisted.
  • Each nomination should ideally be between 500 and 850 words in order to provide sufficient information and supporting material.


If you are nominating someone else, please include your full contact details (as the nominator) as well as the full contact details for the nominated company/person who you are nominating.
